Iberostar cancelled my membership and gave me a refund as i asked. All resolved.

My wife, my two young children and I... visited Iberostar Quetzal in Mexico Playa Car, Oct 2016.

It was the second time we visited... On day two we were asked to sit through a morning with a member of staff so they could speak to us about future "cheaper" iberostar holidays. We ended up sitting with them for hours and hours, listening to their (what we now know are lies) about signing up to be a "member" of Iberostar the "Club" to get massive savings and upgrades etc. on all future iberostar holidays.

To "prove" the savings i asked them to show me a like for like comparison of the holiday i had just paid which cost me ยฃ5000. Their price for the holiday as an exact like for like comparison of what it would cost me as an "Iberostar Club member" was coming in at ยฃ2500!! WOW we thought. They also did the same to my friend...

their holiday coming down from ยฃ3000 to ยฃ1500!! So we both would save thousands just on one future holiday as a member! Sounded too good to be true, so i requested to see these figures on paper... to prove this is what i could actually access as a member.

The lady went away, brought back an I Pad and showed me (what she told me was) an email with all the prices... I specifically asked if this is what i could access as a member, and where exactly are they from? She told me, with all my family and friends witnessing and listening... "you can only access this once you get your membership login details...

but this is what you will be accessing as a member of the club". SO now we thought she has actually proved her savings to me and my friends by showing us ! SO me and my friends all signed up and payed the Down Payment of thousands of dollars... With the assumption we would get all our money back(and save even more thousands), with the future savings we would be getting on future iberostar holidays as members...

We returned home to England... we received our login details... and Guess what!!! NO SAVINGS WHAT SO EVER.

I DID A LIKE FOR LIKE HOLIDAY OF THE HOLIDAY I JUST DID, THE SAME THING THEY DID... AND IT WAS COMING IN AT OVER ยฃ5000... THAT'S MORE THAN I ORIGINALLY PAID THROUGH A RANDOM ON LINE TRAVEL AGENCY!!! THEY ARE NOW SAYING I AM THE ONE WHO IS LIEING...

THEY WILL NOT REFUND ME, OR EVEN CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP. SO THEY THINK THEY ARE GOING TO GET A FURTHER $6600 DOLLARS OUT OF ME ON STANDING ORDERS!!! YOU CAN FIND HUNDREDS OF EXAMPLES JUST LIKE THIS...

IBEROSTAR DO THIS TO SO MANY PEOPLE... HOW CAN THEY GET AWAY WITH IT???

Reason of review: Not as described/ advertised.

Monetary Loss: $2000.

Preferred solution: Full refund.

Hello,

I've had the exact same problem and have gone back and forth with the office trying for a refund and had no luck. Were you able to ever end up getting out of your contract ??

go on BBB southeast Florida website. Raise a complaint on there against Iberostar(they trade as different name "VISIT US, INC").

BBB will open up a case against Iberostar on your behalf... they will contact iberostar for you. Iberostar will then contact you via email and tell you they will cancel your membership and pay you a settlement figure(part refund)... (They will tell you they will only do this on the condition you contact BBB and inform them that your complaint against Iberostar has been resolved).

If you do this, Iberostar will then send you a cancellation letter to sign, stating your settlement figure... If you sign and return this, they will cancel your membership and refund you your agreed settlement figure.

I would like to know how you got a refund because I have the same complaint. It was all a bunch of lies.

They sold us a total pile of ***. All other websites and travel agencies were much cheaper.
